Whereas LRT has many advantages over bus-oriented transit, including higher capacity, lower emissions at the source, greater energy efficiency, less impact on our environment, and greater support for the sort of urban development the region needs to build to manage its expected growth over the next quarter century...

Whereas the LRT was a major issue in the 2010 municipal election, and candidates which expressed support for the LRT received the most votes...

Whereas polls continue to suggest that most residents in Waterloo favour LRT over other public transit options and...

Whereas other centres like Portland, Calgary, Edmonton, Denver, Salt Lake City, Boston, Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco have all shown the benefits of building an LRT network rather than bus rapid transit...

We the undersigned reaffirm our support for the Region's decision to build an LRT line through the heart of Waterloo Region, and we encourage our politicians to stay the course.
